Session: 4 Steps to Creating a Global Privacy Strategy

Many of us run companies or work for companies that have customers all over the world. This means we are the custodians of data that belongs to people in many countries. This comes with a great responsibility to treat that data with the care and respect those people deserve. I've spoken before on ethical technology and that I believe that technology should serve humanity. This talk will be more pragmatic. It is becoming increasingly challenging to keep up with the data laws around the world such as the GDPR, CCPA and the PIPL in China. Privacy law is a very fast-paced legal landscape. As a Global Head of Privacy, I want to share some of my lessons learned in creating a global privacy strategy and things you can do to help you be successful in its execution. The talk will touch on executive buy-in and support, influencing others and keeping up with a fast-paced regulatory environment. I will share 4 steps you can take to get started. Those steps can be applied not just to privacy, but also other governance, risk and compliance areas.
